WHO WE ARE:
Founded on the principles of Inclusion, Allyship, and Accessibility, Allies in Music Education or AME (pronounced “aim”) is an educator-run organization focused on ending the further development of inequity, inequality, and injustice. It is our mission to create lasting change through music education. Based in the practices of music education, the entire team at AME is dedicated to the belief that learning is a lifelong process and has the power to affect lasting change.
The AME Resource Center provides music educators with resources for creating culturally relevant and responsible pedagogy, materials for diversification of curricula, and a variety of other resources based around the principles of inclusion, allyship, and accessibility. The AME Community Music Program is in the process of developing and establishing completely accessible community music programs focused on the use of progressive pedagogical techniques, meaning both; the use of 21st-century techniques and technology as well as our progressive philosophical approach. It is our intention to establish AME Community Music Centers across the country to bring music education to all.
The team at AME is dedicated to making real, lasting change within the world of music education. With the help of our generous donors we can begin to make that change. As AME is a new organization we are not designated a nonprofit organization (Yet!), however we are dedicated to pouring any donations directly back into our programs focused solely on creating accessible and inclusive music education for all.
